Areas of Expertise

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT)

CBT is a form of therapeutic intervention that focuses on a problem and finding a solution for it. It is present focused and helps to identify distressing thoughts and their influence on behaviors. A client must be completely invested and willing to engage with CBT techniques in order for them to be effective.

Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT)

DBT is a form of talk therapy that emphasizes acceptance of intense emotions. It focuses on helping people accept the reality of their lives and learn how to change unhelpful behaviors by acknowledging (and accepting) the intense emotions behind the behaviors.

Mindfulness

Mindfulness Based Cognitive Therapy emphasizes nonjudgemental awareness of thoughts and feelings. It is about teaching the skill of not seeing an emotion or thought as good or bad but acknowledging the presence of it with impartiality.

Trauma-Informed

Trauma-informed care is not a specific therapy intervention. Rather, it is an approach to treatment that takes into consideration the need for safety and connection while working to regulate emotions, thoughts, and behaviors.

My Therapeutic Philosophy

It is my intention to meet you exactly where you are within the therapeutic journey. Whether you have been in therapy for years or brand new to this, our work together will be at your pace and will meet your unique needs. I am committed to seeing beyond a diagnosis and collaborating to improve your well-being as a whole rather than treating symptoms. My approach is  based on utilizing a combination of empathy, strengths-based, person-centered, and evidence-based practices to provide whole person therapy. Your story is unique to you and my approach to therapy is to empower the next chapter through skills, knowledge, and empathy.
